Anyway to get around the 30 character username limit?

I know Jalopnik has been known for its humorously long usernames, but why the 30 character limit?

I just want to complete my username, from Beigemobile Supremo Commando to Beigemobile "At least it's a V6" Commando.

Not as far as I am aware, the way I am getting around it is because I haven't changed ever since the limit was imposed.

Yeah, perhaps it was just an effort for a cleaner look, especially for front page comments. Personally I think they should be as long as we like.

I agree. The long usernames are almost a staple on Jalopnik at this point.
